Bruce Beihoff

Director of Technology Innovation

Bruce C Beihoff is the Director of Technology Innovation for the Mid-West Energy Research Consortium. He joined M-WERC in November of 2012 as its first Director of Technology Innovation. Prior to joining M-WERC, Beihoff was a founder and Chief Technologist of SYSDYNETICS LLC, a consulting firm specializing in the use of Systems Architectures and Dynamic Modeling to accelerate innovation for a wide range of industrial clients.

Beihoff’s present assignments also include his role as a Technical Director within the Wisconsin Energy Institute, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before founding Sysdynetics Mr. Beihoff had a 35 year career in which he held executive director, manager, and Principal Engineer roles developing technology and innovation in Whirlpool Corporation, Rockwell International, and Eaton Corporation. As part of these assignments Mr. Beihoff served as corporate representative to major innovation accelerators associated with Sematech, the Internet Coalition, and Smart grid Coalition. In his early career Mr. Beihoff served in a succession of individual advanced technology contributor roles at Black and Veach, General Electric and United Parcel Service Technologies.

Mr. Beihoff holds a BSME and MSc-e in physics from UW-Madison/UW-System and UWM. Mr. Beihoff has three innovation leadership awards from three of his previous assignments while working at Eaton Corporation, Rockwell International, and Whirlpool Technologies. He holds 46 patents and has served as past Principal Investigator and Program Manager for large industry-government innovation coalitions such as the Power Electronic Building Block architecture and Automotive Integrated Power Module. Mr. Beihoff has held a number of working group leadership positions in organizations ranging from INCOSE to the IEEE in areas of Systems Power Architecture, Automation Architecture, and Systems Innovation.
