Wisconsin DOA secretary will keynote M-WERC July member meeting
M-WERC is excited to announce the speakers and topics for their next member meeting focused on Science and Technology Driven Innovation. “Most of our members know and understand our three areas of focus - Market Insights, Technology Innovation, and Talent Development,” said M-WERC Executive Director Dan Ebert. “
“Our focus on Science and Technology Driven Innovation is reflected in our efforts to not only educate members about new technologies available to the sector but also to help them identify ways to deploy those technologies.”
Wisconsin Secretary of the State Department of Administration, Joel Brennan, will present the key note talk about the Wisconsin’s view on how science and technology drives innovation leading to economic development, community development and quality of life in Wisconsin.
Brennan was selected as the Secretary of the Department of Administration by Governor Tony Evers and began his role on January 7th, 2019. Secretary Brennan brings 25 years of experience in and around public policy in Wisconsin.
He most recently served as President & CEO of Discovery World from October 2007 through January 2019. Located on Milwaukee’s lakefront, Discovery World is Wisconsin’s premier science and technology center, providing interactive exhibits and science-based educational programs which were enjoyed by more than 325,000 families and students from throughout the area in 2018.
Prior to leading Discovery World, Brennan served as the head of Milwaukee’s Redevelopment Authority, where he directed real estate development and large impact economic development projects. Major successes during his tenure include the continued Menomonee Valley redevelopment, Manpower World Headquarters’ relocation to downtown Milwaukee, reconstruction of the Milwaukee Intermodal Station, and redevelopment of the former Pabst Brewery site.
The meeting will also feature a first of its kind, chief technology officer (CTO) panel discussion moderated by Dan Ebert. Executives from both Eaton and AO Smith CTO have already confirmed.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, July 18 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm at We Energies corporate office located at 231 W. Michigan Street in Milwaukee.
