M-WERC to host Chair of Wisconsin’s Public Service Commission

 Greetings M-WERC members and friends,

Science and technology driven innovation continues to be the focus of our efforts as an organization. We’re excited about the progress we’re making as an organization and the buzz we’re creating in the energy, power and control sector.

We’re also excited about our next member meeting in May as we welcome Rebecca Cameron Valcq, Chair of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. She joined the commission for a six-year term on January 7, 2019.

Prior to her appointment, she was a partner at Quarles & Brady in the energy, environment and natural resources practice group. Previous to that position she was regulatory counsel for Wisconsin Electric Power Company where she advised management on all areas of regulatory law in multiple jurisdictions as well as compliance matters.

Chairperson Valcq will lead off the discussion at our meeting by sharing her views on “utilities of the future” which we’ll follow up with a series of discussions and presentations we’re finalizing this week on topics that include energy storage. Check back with us on Twitter (@MWERC) for details on the meeting as we finalize them.

I’ve continued to visit with our members and those interested in joining M-WERC over the past months and look forward to connecting with you.
