Energy Water Nexus Technical Conference Coming in November to Milwaukee
Midwest Energy Research Consortium (M-WERC) has something interesting to share with researchers, engineers, and academics. If you have research and perspectives on opportunities for water and energy savings in the manufacturing process or know of someone who does – keep reading.
We are putting together an event to highlight research and white papers focused on opportunities related to what folks are calling the Energy Water Nexus.
This call for papers is part of a follow-up on a joint research project from M-WERC and The Water Council. The working group formed as a result of this collaboration and is specifically seeking applications, benefits, target markets, industry categories, technologies, and products from active companies within the Energy Water Nexus market space.
If you have an idea or would like to get involved in the 2018 Energy Water Nexus Technical Conference on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 in Milwaukee, please contact Nate Conroy via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to submit a proposal is Sunday, July 1.
Panel and paper presentation proposals that focus on one or more of the following themes are of particular interest:
- Energy and water savings created by membrane and AC drive technology in the manufacturing process;
- Accounting for the social and environmental water costs and consequences of different energy sources, especially renewables. Example report on the topic: Saving Watts to Save Drops: Inclusion of Water Efficiency in Energy Efficiency Programs -- American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy;
- Fostering an Energy Water Nexus focus within a company;
- Case studies of projects designed to save water or energy that also ended up savings water or energy and how that combined savings can be better accounted for to support future efficiency projects.
