The WERCBench Labs Program has crossed the halfway mark of the 12-week program with expert speakers, mentors and coaches, interactive sessions and professional lunches. In addition to using the workspace at M-WERC, they also have access to the testing labs.

The Energy Water Nexus (EWN) Working Group is moving from planning to action. Leveraging a "focused and highly productive" meeting on August 24th, the group approved an action plan to be implemented by a small set of functionary committees.

The updates to the report were informed by feedback gathered at the June 6th kick off meeting of M-WERC’s new Smart Cities Working Group, as well as subsequent surveying of participants.

WERCBench Labs ESS Program begins

Seven start-up companies with technologies ranging from nanogenerators used to charge low-power electronics - to solar power generation, were selected and started the 12 week ESS Program on August 29th with help from our volunteer professional instructors, coaches, and mentors. The program will conclude with the Demo Day presentations from each of the businesses on December 14th.

The Industrial Energy Efficiency Working Group (IEE WG) will host a unique conference on September 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at M-WERC. The “The Business Case for Industrial Energy Efficiency” conference is designed to be a highly efficient, "one-stop" application oriented conference, for small to medium sized manufacturers.

In late June M-WERC's Jeff Anthony attended the German-American Chamber of Commerce Wind Energy Business Conference in Chicago.  M-WERC has partnered with GACC-Midwest on previous events and helped sponsor and promote this event last week. The event was organized to present an update on the wind energy industry in Germany and in the US to attendees. Presenters included companies and the wind energy trade associations from a number of countries, as well as the Fraunhoefer Institute and MISO.

The group focused on the Internet of Things, connectivity solutions, advanced sensors and big data as they start to transform how cities and municipalities provide a connected urban environment for their workers, residents, and visitors.
